Villa Sevillano

For those of you who live in cold parts of the country/world I found a little vacation destination for you.  I'm sure you will enjoy the tour.  At the end of this post is the link to their website.  There are more beautiful pictures of weddings, etc.

Villa Sevillano Vacation Rental

Beautifully situated on 22-sprawling acres, this classic Italian Villa, located near Santa Barbara, truly evokes old world charm while offering the amenities and modern luxuries of recent construction. Magnificently manicured grounds encompass terraced formal gardens, rose gardens, orchards of citrus trees, and over 200 mature olive trees for which the property is named.

Take a look at their website.  The wedding pics are amazing.

Moroccan Modern

Today I am introducing another talented designer.  I love the name she gave this project, Moroccan Modern.

According to Santa Barbara Digs...

Many award-winning properties have been restored under the watchful eye of interior designer Micholyn Brown of Santa Barbara Style, who has been in business for over 35 years.

Moroccan Modern…A vine-covered walkway leads to this secluded, two-story retreat. Large wood-framed windows allow light to stream through onto the white-walled rooms that artfully blend contemporary and antique furnishings, accented with decorative pieces acquired on the couple’s many trips to Morocco

A secluded guest bedroom suite with hot tub and garden is on the ground floor.

This coffee table is so interesting.  You can have all your wonderful books nearby and still
have everything feel so organized.  Love everything about this room.

Our weather has turned cool.  Every day I throw open my blinds and get to see a beautiful
display of golden, quacking aspens.  I feel so blessed to witness such beauty.

Blue and White Love in San Miguel De Allende

San Miguel De Allende

This beautiful, Spanish Colonial, City was voted best city in the world to visit.

This particular property was designed with plenty of blue and white.  I love the
wood door leading to the iron door.  Even the small entry has a wonderful
iron chandelier.

Notice how the corbels have recessed lights so the details of the groin vault ceiling are highlighted.

Love the blue and white detail on the top part of the wall.

The bed has a Barley-Sugar twist detail--L O V E.

Amazing dining room chandelier.

Happy Wednesday.

How High Do I Hang My Chandelier?

Happy Monday.  This post is totally random.  It started with this beautiful picture
of a chandelier suspended by a rope.  I was thinking that I would talk about
the American Lighting Associations recommendations for sizing chandeliers.

A very frequent search on the internet is, "How high do I hang my chandelier?"

I thought I would add some additional chandelier pictures, so I searched Google images.

Found the very fun equestrian chandelier by Ralph Lauren Lighting.

Next, I found some fun pictures of Ralph doing his best cowboy.  Even found
a picture of Ralph with Oprah.

That got me thinking about Clint Eastwood.  Damn he was a good looking guy.

Started thinking about amazing people.  Haven't these three people had totally
amazing careers/lives?

This is the Ralph Lauren Chandelier

Below...This is such a beautiful room with an amazing chandelier.  This picture would work in Tina's contents.  Tina as in The Enchanted Home Tina.  She got an overwhelming response to her
Blue and White contest.  The last time I checked, the room with Ralph Lauren drapery
was leading the contest.  It was indeed very  beautiful.  Made me think...hmmm  I
could use a little boost in my ratings.  Should I offer a give-away of the 4.75 yards
of Ralph Lauren Fabric that I've been saving for I-don't-know-what.

wha-da-ya-think?  Is there anyone interested in winning 4.75 yards of blue and white Ralph Lauren Fabric?

Anywho, I told you this was a random post.

For anyone who is interested in knowing how high the American Lighting Association recommends
hanging a chandelier above a dining room table, it is 30".

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday.  :)

Loving LYFE

Have you heard of LYFE Kitchen?

My lighting manufacturer did the custom lighting for LYFE--the
large, sort of Ameba shaped, pendants.  They look very cool with all the other
elements of the design.  Check out the living wall.  I want one.

Love their philosophy.  I grabbed these pictures of Jennifer Garner at LYFE kitchen
off the internet.  Not sure what the back story is, but she seems to proudly endorse
them.

check it out...

ONE BITE.
EVERYTHING CHANGES

Great food can do amazing things. It can make you feel better. It can support local farms. Promote sustainability. Reward environmentally sound businesses. Give back to the community. And, best of all, it will make you savor every single bite.

Pet Friendly Hotels

Have always admired Ann Jame's work.  Interesting note, I posted about an
uber-cool boutique hotel in Paso Robles two days ago not knowing who the project
designer was.  Well, while exploring Ann Jame's portfolio I discovered she was the designer
for the Hotel Cheval.  She appears to be a very sought after designer in the Santa Barbara/
Montecito area (lucky girl).

Dear Ann, I am a huge fan.  Lets meet for coffee--my treat :)
or
If you would rather meet for a glass of wine at Hotel Cheval, that would be great too!

Following are pictures of one of her Montecito projects.  I love how she does Spanish
with a contemporary vibe.  It always looks clean and fresh.

I remain a huge fan of Spanish Colonial design.  Recently told my sister that I absolutely have to visit
San Miguel De Allende.  A few days later she sent me an article saying that San Miguel De Allende
had been chosen the best city IN THE WORLD to visit.

And my ADD just kicked in...

This is random, but I'm wondering what you think about the trend in high-end properties
to include dogs.

There is the best photo of a doggy water fountain on Hotel Cheval's site.

Please let me know if you travel with your dogs.  Do you have a story about a place
that treats dogs especially well?  Do they sleep on the bed with you?
